Personal profile
Research interests
My research interests revolve around minimal invasive treatment of neurological diseases, mostly acute ischemic stroke. I want to optimize endovascular treatment strategies in acute stroke patients. I study optimal treatment strategies by setting up clinical randomized trails and collaborating extensively with national and international study groups in ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. I am also interested in optimal patient selection and the cost-effectiveness of patient selection in clinical practice using previously collected clinical and radiological data and model based cost-effectiveness analyses. I study machine learning methods and radiomics in acute ischemic stroke patient characterization to speed up treatment and increase access to advanced treatments for patients that do not present in comprehensive stroke centers.
