Personal profile

Research interests

I am a PhD candidate with a profound interest in neurodegeneration with a specific focus on elucidating the physiological and pathological role of α-synuclein, skin tissue biomarkers and disease-modifying therapeutics.

My goal is to get a better understanding of which variants of α-synuclein play a role in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease, to contribute to the development of a biomarker for Parkinson's disease which could help with the differential diagnosis of synucleinopathies or track disease progression and to bring disease-modifying therapeutics from bench-to-bedside for people suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
