Research interests
Our research is centered around the cellular and pathophysiological functions of P4 ATPases, lipid flippases that are implicated in the biogenesis of transport vesicles. Genome-wide association studies predict a role for various P4 ATPases as predisposing factors in complex diseases, including atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. It is our goal to delineate the role of P4 ATPases in aforementioned diseases.
