ERUDIGIT project, Empowering citizens for responsible use of direct to consumer genetic testing. Project consists of several sub-projects:
1. Assessing the current state of the health-related direct-to-consumer genetic testing (DTC-GT) market, and checking the completeness + balance of information on providers' websites to see if consumers are able to make an informed decision based on this information.
2. Monitoring the (perceived and real) medical & psycho-social impact of doing DTC-GTs on actual Dutch consumers and interested individuals, and documenting (intended and actual) actions after performing a DTC-GT.
3. Documenting needs & preferences for decision support and policy among citizens and health professionals, and development + planning implementation and dissemination of tools to help support informed decision making by DTC-GT consumers.
