Research interests

Josée Zijlstra-Baalbergen is professor of Hematology at the Amsterdam UMC. She leads research in the field of lymphoma. Her research mainly focuses on:

  • Functional Imaging in Hematology: FDG-PET/CT Radiomics in DLBCL, Hodgkin lymphoma and Follicular lymphoma
  • Exploring Imaging Biomarkers in Lymphoma: Investigating the correlation between FDG-PET and diffusion-weighted MRI biomarkers in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
  • Developing Online Interventions for Cancer Patients: Contributing to the development of online interventions that facilitate active patient participation in managing cancer-related issues.
  • Studying DNA Repair in Follicular Lymphoma: Examining the relationship between F-FLT uptake in follicular lymphoma and error-prone DNA repair mechanisms.
  • Assessing Risks of Multiple Primary Malignancies: Analyzing the risk, localization, and timing of second and third malignancies in Hodgkin lymphoma survivors.
  • Evaluating Long-Term Outcomes in Lymphoma Treatments: Investigating long-term results and neurocognitive function in patients treated for Hodgkin lymphoma and primary CNS lymphoma with various therapeutic approaches.
