Research interests

The research of Dr Jordanova is mainly focused on translational oncology. She is working on the etiological, genetic and immunological background of various virally induced cancer types, such as vulvar-, cervical, head-and-neck and penile cancer. Dr. Jordanova is a leading expert in the field of multicolour immunohistochemistry with unique technical expertise in the fields of pathology and immunology. In the past years, she has published more than 30 articles on the use of multicolour immunohistochemistry in archival patient material for determining microenvironment biomarkers for tumor development, metastasis and patient survival. In addition, she is involved in setting up research- and diagnostic DNA- and RNA-hybridization assays on archival patient material.
