Research interests

Kim Setkowski studied Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2010 - 2016). She graduated cum laude with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. In that same year, she also received her degree for the Research Master Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology. After she graduated, Kim started her PhD project at 113 Suicide Prevention in collaboration with GGZinGeest/ VUmc, primarily focusing on suicide prevention research (see description of her research project below).

Description PhD study (SUPRANET Care): 

Her PhD research (2016 - 2020) focuses on the evaluation of the impact and feasibility of a SUicide PRevention Action NETwork (SUPRANET Care) in the Netherlands (www.supranetggz.nl). This study explores whether this network is effective in terms of the following three study outcomes: 1) reducing the number of suicides, 2) increasing the registration of suicide attempts, and 3) improving professionals’ knowledge and adherence to the suicide prevention guideline. Also, the feasibility of this network will be investigated.
