Research interests

Dr. Nina Zipfel holds a PhD and is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Amsterdam UMC, Department of Public & Occupational Health (POH), within the Amsterdam Public Health Research Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her research focus on value-based healthcare in occupational health. This initiative aims to establish a work-focused healthcare network with a particular emphasis on facilitating participation and return-to-work for clients dealing with cardiovascular disease. She also explores the use of expert-by-experience to support the reintegration of vulnerable clients. Dr. Zipfel has extensive experience with care improvement research and implementation research. Dr. Zipfel completed her PhD on healthcare quality improvement at Radboud University Medical Center, in collaboration with the St. Antonius Hospital on June 26th, 2020. Her academic journey includes a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Maastricht University (2014) and a Bachelor of Science in European Public Health, also from Maastricht University (2013).
