Research interests
My main fields of expertise involve cardiovascular imaging, in particular echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. These imaging modalities are essential for detailed characterization of a wide range of cardiovascular diseases.
Over the past decade, atherosclerosis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases were the main topic of my research. Over the past few years, I have focused more on valvular heart diseases, in particular aortic valve stenosis. The research combines my previous experience in atherosclerosis with my clinical interest in structural heart diseases where cardiovascular imaging plays a pivotal role.
