Research interests

Sigrid Polspoel's main research project is "Aladdin": the Automatic LAnguage-independent Development of the Digits-In-Noise test. The aim of the project is to create a test development procedure for automatically generating digits-in-noise (DIN) tests. DIN is a popular hearing test and Aladdin would enable the rapid creation of DIN tests in various languages and for different target populations, such as cochlear implant users. Sigrid is also involved in research on extended high frequency hearing (i.e. hearing above 8 kHz) and the detection of conductive hearing loss using the antiphasic DIN test.
