Research interests

As a human movement scientist, Dr. Altenburg is interested in movement behaviours. She is specialised in child-friendly research methods, including participatory action research. Dr. Altenburg her research is focused on measurement, determinants and mechanisms underlying the health consequences of physical activity and sedentary behaviour. In her work, she involves youth themselves to co-create innovations that maximise their health.
