Veerle Coupé is associate professor medical decision making, with a focus on optimization and personalization of oncological care and prevention. She leads the research group decision modeling and healthcare evaluation of the Department of Epidemiology and Data Science and is chair of the Decision Modeling Center Amsterdam. Veerle is astronomer by training, with an MSc degree in clinical epidemiology and a PhD degree in medical informatics. She combines her mathematical and epidemiological background in a range of multidisciplinary projects where modelling is used to link data sources and integrate biological and clinical information. These disease models are used to evaluate the health-economic potential of new technologies and to support medical decision making
