Bergen A.A.B.: Molecular etiology of complex genetic eye disorders

Using human genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics and funtional assays, we aim to unravel the molecular pathology of complex ophthalmogenetics disorders, such as age-related macula degeneration and glaucoom. Once we have made relaible molecular models for these diseases, we will apply them for advanced molecular diagnostics and for the development of genomics-directed therapies.
