N2 - A case report of 28-year-old woman suffering from colicky pain from right loin to groin and vomiting, at Department of Internal Medicine, VU University Medical Center, is presented. She had been suffering recurrent attacks of pain and vomiting during the previous 10 years. In June 2003, she undergone intravenous pyelograms (IVP) which showed a ventral rotation of the right kidney by two vertebral bodies, while diuretic renogram showed a decrease in the function of right kidney (from 49% to 36%). Department of Internal Medicine conducted diagnosis of nephroptosis (floating kidney) due to symptoms of renal colic and bruised feeling in right loin during driving over speed-bumps. During the operation, her right kidney was moved from the upper abdomen to the pelvis. She recovered completely from pain and vomiting after undergoing nephorpexy (fixation of kidney).
