Abstract

In this case report, we describe a physiotherapist with hand eczema, caused by a contact allergy to a massage oil. Patch testing was performed and showed contact allergies to limonene hydroperoxides, linalool hydroperoxides and citral. The oil our patient used contained limonene, linalool and citral and it is known that essential oils can contain hydroperoxides. The hand eczema disappeared after avoiding contact with the massage oil.
