Abstract

In addition, we need more evidence from prospective, preferably randomized, studies on the risk of tumor recurrence after stent placement to prove the long-term safety of stent as bridge to surgery. Until then, the clear short-term benefits, combined with the high mortality rate in frail and elderly patients, should be balanced with the possible long-term risks of tumor recurrence
