Abstract

Preoperative laser depilation of the urethral donor site for phalloplasty reduces subsequent hair growth. On average, six laser cycles are necessary. Neourethral hair appears to have no influence on voiding. We advise annual urethroscopic follow-up in cases with high urethral hair density.
