Abstract
Internal disorders regularly cause skin abnormalities. Sometimes these arise later, sometimes the skin abnormalities precede other manifestations of the internal disease. The dermatologist plays an important role in this, both as a practitioner of the skin disease and as a co-practitioner in the search for an internal diagnosis. Neutrophilic dermatoses are a group of skin diseases that are often associated with underlying conditions. As an example of this, pyoderma gangrenosum and Sweet’s syndrome are discussed.
