N2 - A neonate is a newborn baby less than 30 days old. Similar to older children and adults, skin infections in neonates include bacterial, viral, mycotic or ectoparasitic infections. The presentation in neonates, however, can be different compared to older children and adults, and infections can have a different course. Non-bullous and bullous impetigo, Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (SSSS), neonatal herpes, congenital and neonatal candida infections and neonatal scabies are discussed.
