Abstract
We apply the Gaussian-scaled phase-randomized Fourier transform to generate surrogate data of a group of multichannel EEG time series in order to investigate nonlinearity in the EEG. Evidence for nonlinearity is found with a high confidence level, yet the EEG dynamics are not low-dimensional.
