Abstract
Scores can be surprising, whether they are from sport matches or medical outcomes. In sports we like to preserve the pressure: even the absolute front-runner has only one chance to win the Olympics or World Cup. But what if we encounter a single medical outcome in a study? In those cases we need to be careful with promises of personalized medicine and precision medicine. Clinical science cannot do without repetition and averages.
