Abstract

The work presented in this thesis begins with a focus on non-invasive diagnostic methods for ectopic pregnancy. The heterogeneity found in studies on diagnostic tests for ectopic pregnancy has led to an international recommendation on uniform definitions of early pregnancy complications. Hereafter, we researched risk factors involved in severe complications of ectopic pregnancy. Finally, we investigated the treatment effect of systemic methotrexate and the impact on health related quality of life of this treatment compared to expectant management in women with ectopic pregnancy.
