Abstract

The use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) for oxygenation measurements was discussed. The oxygenation determination of the whole blood was investigated on porcine blood samples. Results showed a senstivity in the OCT spectral content to changes in oxygenation that qualitatively corresponded to expectations based on the absorption spectra of oxidized hemoglobin and hemoglobin.
