Abstract

In this study we evaluated patient-reported outcomes in men with a congenital penile curvature (CPC) and an acquired penile curvature (APC) who underwent a cavernoplication or cavernoplasty. A selfconstructed questionnaire was used evaluating 4 domains: penile appearance, erectile function, sexual intercourse and partner. Fifty-five out of 115 patients responded (response percentage 48%), concerning 9 CPC- and 46 APC patients. All CPC patients underwent a cavernoplication. Out of the 46 APC patients, 15 underwent a cavernoplicatie and 31 a cavernoplasty. CPC patients were satisfied on all domains; irrespective of the surgical technique used, APC patients were unsatisfied on 4 items in different domains. The postoperative satisfaction in APC patients can therefore be disappointing.
