N2 - The goal of treatment in CSC should be a complete and durable resolution of SRF. PDT is able to achieve this goal by targeting the choroidal congestion and leakage that appears to lie at the basis of SRF leakage in CSC. Based on the findings of the PLACE trial, half-dose PDT with reduced settings appears to be the most effective treatment to achieve this anatomical end point in cCSC, while also achieving functional improvement, with a favorable safety profile. PDT also might be the treatment of choice in selected aCSC cases in which treatment is desired to achieve fast SRF resolution, visual improvement, and minimization of the recurrence risk.
