Research interests
I am an epidemiologist and developmental psychologist. I am working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Midwifery Science, AVAG-Amsterdam Public Health/Amsterdam Reproduction & Development, (co-)coordinating the IUGR Risk Selection Study, a national stepped wedge cluster randomized trial (n=13.046) evaluating the (cost-)effectiveness of routine third trimester ultrasonography in reducing severe adverse perinatal outcome. Moreover, I am the coordinator of the Perinatal Psychology research line of our department conducting research into developmental programming of child mental health as well as into the effectiveness of an antenatal resilience training for pregnant women with depressive symptomatology. Next to this, I am the project leader of a large-scale project addressing the improvement of secondary prevention and integrated care for unwanted pregnancies (IPC UP study).
