Research interests

Despite the efficacy of treatment, long-term course trajectories of anxiety disorders are often unfavourable, and hence, anxiety disorders rank high on burden-of-disease lists worldwide. The research line of Neeltje Batelaan therefore focuses on understanding, predicting, and influencing the long-term course of anxiety disorders with a specific interest in research that has a direct impact on clinical practice. She aims to contribute to the field using a combination of epidemiologic, biological and clinical research and by collaborating with various partners.
