Op weg naar een lerend medicatieveiligheid systeem (REMEDY project)

Project Details

Description

Adverse Drug Events (ADEs) tend to be registered as free text mentions in clinical narratives, such as clinical progress notes and discharge letters. Free text is considered as unstructured data and extensive pre-processing and formatting is needed for a computer to accurately analyse it. Natural Language Processing may help to address these challenges.

Therefore, the goal of the REMEDY Study is to gain insights in the extent and type of ADEs in the ICU setting registered in clinical narratives by developing and validating NLP tools for the analysis of Dutch clinical language.

The REMEDY Study is conducted in Amsterdam UMC (location AMC) in collaboration with ICU and hospital pharmacy departments. For the purpose of this study we are using the Research Data Platform of Amsterdam UMC.
