PharmacoInformatics Lab (PIL)

The reuse of observational data obtained during routine patient care, known as real-world data (RWD), from Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, holds immense potential for improving and personalizing pharmacotherapy for patients with multimorbidity. However, several challenges related to RWD and its analysis must be addressed for this potential to be realized. The PharmacoInformatics Lab (PIL) aims to tackle these challenges by developing digital tools, ranging from simple yet useful data visualizations and rule-based algorithms to more advanced statistical and machine learning models for diagnosis and prognosis. PIL is a community of medical informatics researchers, healthcare professionals, industry experts, and the public, committed to creating a cross-sectoral Medication Safety Learning System (MSLS).
