Description

BPD is the most common complication of preterm birth. It is treated with systemic corticosteroids, which unfortunately have serious side-effects. Therefore it is important to identify infants with a high risk of severe BPD early to treat only them and to initiate treatment as early as possible. Until now, we are not able to make such prediction. We want to use proteomics to identify early markers for severe BPD.
