N1 - Funding Information: The authors thank the molecular diagnostics staff of the Department of Pathology of Leiden University Medical Center, as well as Michelle van der Klift, Fleur de Groot, Patty Jansen, and Karoly Szuhai for their help with genetic analyses. Sofie Breuking is acknowledged for prior work on the systematic review. The authors also thank Wichor Bramer from the Erasmus MC Medical Library for developing and updating the search strategies for the systematic review. Figure 1G-H was made with BioRender.com software. N2 - In this retrospective study, BRAF mutation status did not correlate with disease extent or (event-free) survival in 156 adults with Langerhans cell histiocytosis. BRAFV600E was associated with an increased incidence of second malignancies, often comprising hematological cancers, which may be clonally related.
