Child daycare workers

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterAcademicpeer-review

Occupational dermatitis in child daycare workers is mostly hand dermatitis. Hand dermatitis in daycare employees is mostly of irritant nature and due to water, soap, and disinfectants. Handling food, particularly fruit and dairy products, may cause contact urticaria or protein contact dermatitis. The use of latex or rubber gloves may induce irritant as well as allergic contact dermatitis. Skin care and sanitizing products are an important source of contact allergens, most prominently fragrances, preservatives, and increasingly cocamidopropylbetaine.
