Abstract

We describe a recent case of congenital syphilis in the Netherlands, which was discovered due to typical skin manifestations in child and mother. Since this disease is again increasing in Western Europe, alertness is warranted. Besides the case description we highlight the most prominent key points for diagnosis and therapy of congenital syphilis as refresher of a seemingly indestructible disease.
