Abstract
The internet is an important but unreliable source of information. For this reason doctors generally search for information in limited and controlled domains. By exploiting the strength of search engines optimally good quality information can be accessed in an effective manner. We use a case report about PFAPA (periodic fever, aphtous stomatitis, pharyngitis, adenopathy) syndrome to illustrate how searching for information using Google can support the diagnostic process. We discuss possibilities of Google and the way Google searches the internet and discuss some similarities and differences with searching PubMed.
