An abnormal pupil reaction has many causes, including drug use or intoxications. In contrast to the often asymmetrical abnormal pupillary reaction in intracranial injury, the pupillary reaction is mostly symmetrically affected by drugs or intoxications. In
this article a clinical case is presented of a patient with a quetiapine intoxication nd an absent pupillary light response. Moreover, the pharmacological effect on the pupillary light response of the most common used drugs and most prevalent intoxications presented at the emergency department, intensive care unit and ward are discussed.
