Abstract
The immunization rate (1993-1994) in 50 nursing homes and the knowledge and opinions about influenza vaccination of 146 physicians working in these nursing homes, were studied. Relations between immunization rate and factors of influence on this rate (knowledge and opinions about influenza vaccination, 'function' and 'experience') are described. Understanding of these relations can lead to recommendations for achieving an optimal immunization rate in Dutch nursing homes.
