Abstract

There are indications that olanzapine can trigger or exacerbate obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCS) in patients with schizophrenia (Morrison et al. 1998; Mottard and de la Sablonniere 1999). Olanzapine has mood-stabilizing properties in bipolar patients (McElroy et al. 1998) and has proven effective in treating manias (Tohen et al 1999). We report a case of olanzapine-induced de novo OCS in a patient with bipolar II disorder
