Abstract

Palatal myoclonus (now reclassified as palatal tremor) is a rare movement disorder characterized by rhythmic movements of the soft palate. It can be separated into two forms: symptomatic palatal tremor (SPT) usually without an ear click and essential palatal tremor (EPT) often with an ear click as the sole clinical manifestation.
