Abstract

• Morphological evaluation of SRIs is still nowadays the clinical standard in daily practice. • New functional imaging modalities show potential to add valuable physiopathological information about the insights of SRIs in specific clinical scenarios. • In the era of personalized medicine, AI algorithms may help athletes and all professionals involved in their care to improve the evaluation of SRIs through a definitive quantitative metric approach.
