Abstract

We thank both Walker and Powell (1), as well as Sholapurkar (2) for their interest in our work. Walker and Powell note that the risk of neonatal mortality for planned vaginal breech delivery (VBD) in our study is lower than the mortality reported in the term breech trial and comparable to the risk of planning a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). They conclude that it would be reasonable for a larger proportion of women to attempt a VBD in their current pregnancy, rather than plan a VBAC in their next one, particularly for first time mothers.
