Abstract

Ethical committees can be seen as instances of practical reasoning, following the tradition of practical philosophy. Within biomedical industries, the importance of ethical reflection seems to be less pronounced. If ethical reflection is to play a more central role within biomedical industries, the focus should not be on the legal restrictions of an economic endeavour which is ethically neutral by itself. We should rather look for ways to enhance the ethical awareness and discussion of ethical issues among industrial workers.
