Abstract
Delayed duodenal perforation by plastic biliary endoprosthesis is a rare complication in percutaneous biliary stenting. A lethal delayed biliary and duodenal perforation by a percutaneously placed metal self-expandable endoprosthesis (Wallstent) in irradiated cholangiocarcinoma is reported. The presence of two parallel Wallstents in the common bile duct and the angled position of one of the Wallstents against the distal common bile duct were probably the main causes of the perforation.
