N2 - Technical developments and medical innovations have made healthcare increasingly more complex over the past few decades, putting ever so much more emphasis on teamwork. Optimal functioning of healthcare teams is important to ensure adequate and safe treatment of patients but also to create a working environment where promising innovations can be initiated and implemented effectively in order to improve patient care. This chapter will discuss human and organizational factors behind team collaboration that contribute to successful innovation.
