N2 - As stated in the recent review antibodies are expected to develop in almost all patients within 6-8 weeks and the negative predictive value is very high. This is well supported in the literature. Thus, testing for borrelia specific antibodies may, as explained in detail in the review, effectively rule out Lyme borreliosis, and other diagnostic possibilities should be considered. A warning concerning "deceptive Lyme disease diagnosis" is presented
