Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB)

Dementia with Lewy bodies is the second most common form of dementia in the elderly, next to Alzheimer's disease (AD), and shares both clinical and pathological overlap with AD and Parkinson' disease. DLB is not curable at this point but symptomatic treatment is available. Focused research interest:

- impact of concomitant AD-pathology in DLB

- biomarker discovery & early diagnosis

- longitudinal cohort study (DEvELOP); objectives are different phenotypes in DLB, risk factors for progression, disease specific outcome measures

- optimising care
