Research interests

My group is the Structural Brain Imaging Group, which is embedded in the Imaging Methodology Group headed by Prof. Boellaard.

The research of my group focuses on development, validation and application of MRI-based methods to quantify structural brain changes. The main disease focus is on multiple sclerosis and dementia. The main research lines address how to reliably measure structural brain changes in the presence of pathological changes; standardizing measurements across scanners and acquisition protocols; and understanding how different aspects of pathology in MS are related.

I have received research grants, speaker honoraria and consulting fees from Pfizer, Novartis, MerckSerono, and Teva; all funds paid directly to my institution.
